I would like to share my experience with Akins Trailer Sales, I was referred to Akins by a Trailer manufacturer because I was not satisfied with the dealer in my area. It says a lot about a dealer when the manufacturer sends you to a specific one. I was very specific on the floor plan of my new LQ. Thad was just becoming a Merhow dealer. I had 10 thousand questions and Thad arranged a 3 way call with Merhow so we were both able to learn from my questions. I selected a Harmar interior and Randy from Harmar called to clarify exactly how I wanted some things done on the interior. Between Akins (Thad and Rochelle), Merhow and Harmar, I cannot say enough great things. I have previously purchased new cars and a couple new horse trailers and have never received the customer service that I received while buying this one. Thad truly wanted everything to be perfect. He never tired of my questions (or at least he never showed it). My trailer came and it was EXACTLY as I expected and hoped for.It pulls like a dream and I am absolutely in love with it. I would refer and have referred anyone and everyone to Akins Trailer Sales. I live near Graham, Washington and it was so worth the 5 hour trip all the way to Harrisburg, Oregon.

To the manufacturer of Bison Coach Trailers,This past spring my husband and I bought a Bison Stratus Express Trailer from Thad Akins, Akins Trailers, in Harrisburg Oregon.Let me just tell you that it was the best purchase we have ever made! We LOVE our trailer and Thad was absolutely the best salesman we have ever worked with on any kind of purchase. Prior to Bison, we had a Trailswest four horse for over twelve years. Really liked that trailer but it was showing some age and we wanted to upgrade to a living quarters. I shopped for a long time but always came back to the Bison line. The quality for the money is by far the best that I found anywhere.Having such a great salesperson was truly wonderful. Thad wasn't pushy, didn't try to sell us something we didn't want and really seemed to understand our personal situation. I will refer business to him any chance I get.We did make two modifications to our trailer when we got it home. The one pet peeve I have always had with any trailer, camper or motor home I have been in is that there is no place to put a garbage can without it being in the way. My husband just cut out the shelf under the sink to allow for the can (isn't that where most people put the kitchen garbage in their house?). We also added a small amount of weather stripping to the collapsible tack room wall so that shavings and urine can not get into the tack area. Just thought you might keep those ideas in mind for future trailers!Once again I just wanted you to know how much we like our trailer and will use it for many years to come! Tanya and I are pleased to offer a letter of testimony to Thad and Rochelle Akins and Akins Trailers for the outstanding service we have received from their company during the purchase of our Bison Alumasport 8310 SE living quarters horse trailer. We spent a considerable amount of time researching, not only the type and brand of trailer we wanted, but also who we wished to make such a large purchase with. It soon became clear to us that the Bison Company was the company for us, as they offered the best value for our purchasing dollar. The standard features on their trailer were way above any offered by the competition and even with all the extras we added on to the standard package the Bison Trailer was still, by far, the better value. Even today when we look at the Living Quarters Horse Trailer market we still find we have more for our money that anything available out there. The Bison Company stands behind all their products even in difficult financial times and with an out of country buyer. We are from Canada and their are no Bison Dealers within 1000 Kilometers or us. When we had a few minor fit and finish problems with our trailer the Bison Company was able to assist with the repair of these items at absolutely no cost to us. We took our trailer to our nearest RV repair center (Fraserway RV, a company who had no knowledge of the Bison Line or Living Quarters Trailers at all) and Bison communicated with them, shipped them replacement parts and advised them on how to best make the repairs. The result was that the repairs were made in a timely fashion, to our satisfaction and at no cost to us. It doesn't get any better that that! As for Akins Trailers you couldn't fine a better, more reliable, honest couple to buy from than Thad and Rochelle. They are easy to reach, helpful and always do what they say they will do for you. I trust them implicitly and have recommended them to several Canadian friends. We bought our first Bison trailer- a 16'Stratus LQ from Akins 2 years ago and loved it! Rochelle was really great at showing us how everything in the trailer worked since this was all new to us. We hauled the horses ( and a cat) across the country for 4 months and it was our home away from home. When we decided to scale down to a smaller rig, Thad helped us customize our new Stratus Express just the way we wanted it, and for a reasonable price! We love the new trailer!

I am writing to tell you about our experiance with Akins Trailers. We purchased our Bison in March of 2009. The process was painless and very friendly. We drove 500 miles to pick up our trailer nearly site unseen (only by photos). My husband and I had been looking for horse trailers with living quarters for several months. So when we got on the internet and saw the Bison, it was time to start investigating, because the living area in the Bison is the best we had seen by far. There was a dealer closer to us but his inventory was 2 yrs old and we just didn't like what he had in stock. Akins Trailer Sells was listed on the Bison web cite as a referral, so I called and spoke to Rochelle. She was able to locate a trailer that fit all our needs. As with any new purchase, We had a little trouble with our trailer. Thad made sure that the warranty work was taken care of in a timely and efficient manner and we were up and running in no time at all. The Bison Trailer is absolutely beutiful. It is not made for severe cold winter use, but when you have horses, you usually aren't going to places below zero anyway. So I will recommend Akin Trailers Sells again. We get stares driving down the freeway all the time and people come up to us at rest stops or camp grounds asking to look inside. It is absolutely the best buy we have made in a very long time.

We wanted to share our experience in purchasing a Bison horse trailer through Thad Akins at Akins Trailer Sales in Oregon. My husband and I had been looking for several months to purchase a new or fairly new used horse trailer with a living quarters. Our search was more difficult than we first thought it might be. I ended up placing "wanted" ads on "Craig's list" and also on "www.horsetrailerworld.com". Thad evidently saw my ad and contacted me by e-mail. He worked with us and offered us much better prices than we could find in North Carolina at our local dealers or on-line. In the end, we could settle for a used trailer or put a little more with what we expected to pay and get our dream trailer...a new 2010 trailer with a slide! I had always wanted a slide but didn't think we would be able to afford a new one and could not locate a used one in the price range we were looking for. To make a long story short we ended up placing our order with Thad. He was wonderful to work with. He delivered everything that was promised. I was a little nervous making this large of a purchase from out-of-state since you hear so many stories about scams. We did our research as best we could and went ahead with placing our order. I know it is difficult when making a big purchase such as a trailer but I want anyone who is thinking about purchasing a trailer through Akins Trailer Sales in Harrisburg, Oregon to know that Thad and Rochelle Akins will go above and beyond for their customers. I had a 3 horse Bison with 8 feet of living space built through Akins Trailers. I never met them everything was done over the phone and internet. I had millions of questions which were answered promptly. They guided me through the process with suggestions not pushing. They gave me a suggestion where to get financing and again very smooth process. After the trailer was built in Indiana it had to be hauled from the manufacture. Unfortunately this was the dead of winter and the person hauling the trailer put it into a snow bank. There of course was damage to the trailer. I want anyone considering a purchase to know that Thad and Rochelle took charge immediately and had a new trailer built in record time for me as well as they had them add an electric jack (a feature that I had not paid for). Whether we are in tough economic times or in the best of times we want to do business with GOOD people and that is what Thad and Rochelle are, good honest people that care about their customers.
